Rug Cleaning

Rugs are not very affordable so when we have one, we should take good care of it and do everything we can to make it last long for us to be able to use it. But one mandatory thing that should be done that mostly damages the rugs is the cleaning process. Most rugs when cleaned by a person who is not knowledgeable enough to do it is the one who damages the rug and because of this, we choose to hire professional cleaners to do it for us. But hiring professional rug cleaners to do the cleaning can be very expensive when you want your rug to be cleaned regularly, so for you to be able to save all the fees the you will be spending for hiring professional cleaners, here are some tips on how you can clean your rug all by yourself without damaging it.

1. Flip the rug and vacuum the back part then the front part.

It is important to vacuum the back part of the rug first since most of the time; we are pushing the dust downwards when we are walking all over the rug. This means that most of the dusts are on the back part of the rug. After vacuuming the back part, vacuum the front part as well so that you can be sure that all of the dusts on the rug are sucked out by the vacuum and that the rug is now dust free.

2. Remove all the pet hairs that are on the rug using a brush.

When you are vacuuming the rug, it is not a hundred percent guarantee that you will be able to suck out everything that is stuck on the rug. Say for example pet hairs, so you can remove this using a brush. Make sure that the brush that you are using is not very hard so that the fibres of the rug will not lush out or get taken out. If this happens, your rug will not be as attractive as it is and you are surely taking years away from its original beauty.

3. Flip rugs once every month.

The best way to ensure that the rug will not be stressed out form all the feet that is stomping on it, flip the rug once every month so that the other side can rest as well. Also, this is to make sure that the dust will not be able to build up on the rug and for the dusts that have penetrated deep down to be pushed back again. And then when you plan on cleaning the rug again, you can now easily vacuum out all the accumulated dusts without any hassle. In some cases, you may not even have to wash it again since the dusts are already taken out, unless of course there are stains on the rugs that need to be removed as soon as possible. If there are stains, then you surely will have to wash the rug again.
